Compliance, without the compliance maze

Bluegate turns AML and CDD into one controlled workflow for UK accountancy firms.

It asks the right questions, makes sure required checks are completed, records how decisions were reached, and leaves the judgement with your firm.

01

See the whole risk picture

Risk makes more sense when you can see it together.

Bluegate brings the case, risk drivers and supporting information into one view — so you can step back from individual answers, understand what is driving the assessment, and make a decision you can explain.

02

An audit trail that writes itself

If someone asks “why?”, the answer is already in the file.

Bluegate records the evidence, decisions, rationale and risk changes as the work happens — creating a chronological record that shows how the case reached its conclusion.

03

AI that challenges judgement — not replaces it

You make the decision. Bluegate makes it harder to make a weak one.

Bluegate challenges rationale that doesn't address the actual risk and flags information that doesn't fit together.

“Known to the firm for years” doesn't explain away jurisdictional risk. A relationship can't be both one-off and ongoing. And if a risk rating changes, the file should explain why.

04

Your rules, layered onto the rules

The regulatory floor stays fixed. What sits above it is yours.

Bluegate separates mandatory requirements from professional-body guidance and your firm's own risk appetite, review policy and due diligence standards.

Firm Policy Yours to set

Risk thresholds, review expectations and due diligence standards.

Institute Guidance Professional-body expectations

Guidance relevant to the body supervising your firm.

Bring your existing AML with you

Drop in the files. Bluegate does the groundwork.

Import existing AML records using AI. Bluegate structures the information, identifies what's missing and shows what still needs attention — turning a back catalogue of documents into a manageable portfolio.

Qualification

Is Bluegate a fit for your firm?

The pilot is for UK accountancy firms supervised for AML, typically with 5–50 people, a named MLRO or compliance lead, and real client work to put through Bluegate.

A good fit

ICAEW, ACCA, AAT, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAS, ICAB or HMRC-supervised accountancy firms that want better control of CDD, risk assessment and ongoing review.

Not a fit

Other regulated sectors, firms outside the UK, or firms looking for software to make client acceptance decisions for them.

Not sure? Apply anyway. We review every application ourselves.

Your data

Your data stays yours

You remain the data controller. Bluegate processes client data only on your firm's instructions under a written agreement.

UK hosted

Data and backups remain in UK-region infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest.

Restricted access

Your firm sees only its records. Bluegate production access is limited, named and logged.

Never used to train

Client data is not sold, shared with other firms or used to train models for others.

Portable by design

Export your records and case history at any time. If you leave, your remaining data is deleted within {{ deletionDays }} days of confirmation.

Who's building it

Built from inside an accountancy firm

Bluegate grew out of an ICAEW-supervised accountancy practice with 30 years in the profession.

We built the workflow we wanted ourselves: the questions a reviewer expects to see answered, in an order that makes sense, with the reasoning captured while the work happens rather than reconstructed afterwards.

Its regulatory core is grounded in UK money laundering regulations and accountancy-sector AML guidance. Where the rules require professional judgement, Bluegate leaves the judgement with your firm.

Questions we get asked

Does Bluegate replace professional judgement?

No. Bluegate asks, calculates, challenges and records. Your firm makes every risk and client acceptance decision.

What if I disagree with the risk rating?

Override it and record why. Bluegate preserves both the original assessment and your rationale.

Is Bluegate approved by my supervisory body?

No AML software is automatically an approval of the underlying file. Bluegate is built to help firms create a complete, coherent and defensible record; responsibility remains with your firm.

Do I need to migrate every client?

No. Start with new clients and reviews due now, then bring across the rest when it makes sense.
